Those who live and work in Scotland may prefer to gain First Aid at Work courses which have received SQA accreditation. This can assist in a number of ways, particularly if one is working towards a qualifications such as an HNC or HND. Additionally, as with other regulated courses, there may be funding available.
These courses are designed to provide the First Aider with the skills necessary to give effective basic life support, diagnose and treat minor and manage major injuries or illness keeping the patient alive until the emergency services arrive. This qualification will enable the holder of this qualification to deal competently and confidently as a first-aid trained member of staff in the workplace.
