The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. These Regulations apply to all workplaces including those with less than five employees and to the self-employed.

Schools and Nurseries must be compliant with the HSE, Ofsted & EYFS requirements, requiring at least one full Paediatric First Aid qualified staff member at all times, including cover for sickness, holidays and trips. A fully trained Paediatric First Aider can be supported by one Emergency Paediatric First Aid trained staff member.

Safeguarding
Sports First Aid
Sports First Aid is aimed at anyone who requires a course in sports first aid. The certificate is valid for 3 years and the full classroom option will consist of 7 hours of face-to-face training.
This course covers basic first aid and is aimed at people who need first aid who work in various sports sectors. It not only covers basic first aid but also all the specific problems that arise in sports. Primary and secondary subjects are covered, including soft tissue injuries, head injuries, types of cuts, and many illnesses that could arise.
Dental Immediate Life Support (ILS)
The General Dental Council (GDC) and other professional Healthcare bodies require their members to carry out annual CPD Courses.
This course is designed to meet the requirements of ILS courses laid down by UK Resus Council guidelines and is certified by ProTrainings. This CPD course meets the criteria for the GDC's development outcomes C. We also offer Basic Life Support courses.
Outdoor Pursuits
The Outdoor Pursuits 16-Hour First Aid course is aligned with the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) Statement of Good Practice on Outdoor First Aid at Band 3.
The contents of this course will cover primary and secondary care and are adapted to the outdoor world where the emergency services may be harder to access. We also offer a 1-day course or other specific workplace courses that will meet your needs.
Moving & Handling
Pre 2002, the Manual Handling Operations Regu-lations did not set any weight limits for lifting and carrying loads. Amendments made in 2002 now require employees to have an adequate or appropriate knowledge or training in order to make assessments to judge whether safe moving is possible.
The regulations apply to almost all work environ-ments from offices to care homes and factories.
Scuba Diving First Aid
This course covers the injuries and illnesses that are likely to occur with Scuba Diving. The challenges with Scuba diving are different from other sectors. This course covers all the basics of dealing with a Scuba Diving injury whether diving on Seas, Lakes or Rivers.
The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.
Fire Safety at Work
These courses are aimed at anyone who requires a course in fire safety. It is designed to meet and comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. It covers regulations, the fire triangle, evacuation, fire equipment, good house-keeping, the law, training requirements, calling the fire service, fire doors, smoke alarms, risk assessing and precautions. We also offer a Level 2 course for Fire Wardens.
Equestrian First Aid
This course is aimed at human first aid for anyone involved with horses where the First Aid at Work qualification is needed in addition to specific injuries involved when working with horses and a course tailored to equestrian subjects. If you are involved in teaching riding or other activities you are required to have the BHS first aid qualification or the HSE First Aid at Work qualification. With this course, it includes the approved FAW with extra subjects that are needed in the equestrian world. ProTrainings Vocational Training Qualifications (VTQ) are fully recognised by the HSE as Trade Body Qualifications.
